This is the second time that the program has been “bumped up” to a larger classification and still advanced to the next qualifying round of the state series. Rockford Christian has an enrollment of 379. Belvidere North is the largest school in the Regional with 1515 students. This marks the seventeenth consecutive RCXC squad to qualify for the Sectional meet.
The Royal Lions will complete next at the IHSA 2A Sectional Meet, hosted by Woodstock North, at Emricson Park on Saturday, October 27. Currently, there are seven teams ranked in the ILXCTF Top 25 that will be racing at Emricson next weekend. Their enrollments are 1611, 1508, 1400, 1359, 1221, 742, and 379. Only five of these schools will advance to the State Championship.
