2019 Oregon Open - D' Artagnon Beaver, 8th Place

[updated 9/9/19 at 7:37 pm]

Park West, Oregon -- A newly configured course awaited the Royal Lions (1A #14 ILXCTF) at the 26 team Oregon Open on Saturday, September 6. Oregon Park District construction demolished the center pathway of the old course forcing meet officials to redesign a 1.5 mile loop around the park. The grass was still long and wet and the hills were still there. Dawson Smith of Rock Falls won the individual title in 15:52 out of 138 competitors.

D' Artagnon Beaver (Jr.) broke into the top 10 finishers running a course PR of 17:31. Stephen Thomas (Jr.) had a much improved effort over last week running 17:50 and finished 15th. The Royal Lion chase pack of Benjamin Capriola (So.), Ethan Walsh (So.), Josiah Emenecker (Sr.), and Carter Fryer (Sr.) placed 28-36-37-39 with marks of 18:36, 18:58, 18:58, and 19:01. Adison Elliott (So.) closed out the top seven in 58th place in 19:47. Capriola was recognized as the RCXC "Runner of the Week" for his breakout run.

No team scores are recorded at the Oregon Open. Unofficial marks tabulated by Coach Moore were as follows:
